This is the beginning of Hello Kitty. She was originally created by Sanrio designer Ikuko Shimizu who left the company about a year later. The second designer, Setsuko Yonekubo, took over for give years until 1980 when the task was given to Yuko Yamaguchi who still hold the position. She didn't get the name Hello Kitty until 1975. She was first seen as a kitty with a little red bow tie on its left ear, sitting down. She instantly attracted respect and love of thousands of people in Japan with her cute design and character, which instantly turned her into a celebrity. This is the carton image with her good friend Goldfish and her favorite milk.
